ABCIC promotes intensification and diversification of production systems through on-farm forestry – the productivity of land units is enhanced by facilitating the planting of suitable indigenous multipurpose agroforestry species. The productivity and economic returns of land units is also enhanced through planting of indigenous fruits species that increase food production and improve nutritional quality while providing a wide range of environmental benefits.
ABCIC also promotes conservation agriculture as a concept for resource-saving agricultural crop production that strives to achieve acceptable profits together with high and sustained production levels while concurrently conserving the environment.
